Low energy can come from many causes: poor sleep, stress, low nutrient intake, heavy training, medical conditions, medication side effects, or simply not eating enough. Supplements can help in some situations, but they work best when they address a real need.

Some energy supplements act like stimulants. Others support nutrient status, oxygen transport, mitochondrial function, stress resilience, or exercise performance. The best choice depends on why your energy is low in the first place.

What Are Energy Supplements?

Energy supplements are products used to support alertness, stamina, physical performance, or normal energy metabolism. They do not all work the same way.

Some, such as caffeine-containing products, provide a short-term boost. Others, such as vitamin B12, iron, magnesium, vitamin D, creatine, and CoQ10, are more about supporting the body’s normal energy systems. These are most useful when intake is low, demand is high, or a deficiency is present.

Best Energy Supplements to Consider in 2026

1. Vitamin B12
